Below you will find a few of the many personalization processes we use to make your special awards. All of our products are manufactured, assembled and personalized within our Powhatan, Virginia Factory.
  • Hot Stamping

Hot Stamping is dry printing method in which a heated die and foil are used to apply graphics to a part. Hot stamping is a process in which an engraved image, hot stamping die or type, is heated then forced down against a part with a marking foil sandwiched in between. Using foil printing is a very effective way to add security to your document. It cannot be duplicated by scanners or copiers. The advantages of hot stamping include increased productivity, multiple colors in one step, and a variety of available materials and finishes.

  • Silk Screening

Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas.

  • Laser Engraving

Laser engraving is the practice of using lasers to engrave or mark an object. The technique can be very technical and complex, and often a computer system is used to drive the movements of the laser head. Despite this complexity, very precise and clean engravings can be achieved at a high rate. The technique does not involve tool bits which contact the engraving surface and wear out. This is considered an advantage over alternative engraving technologies where bit heads have to be replaced regularly.

  • Color Sublimation

Color sublimation is a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye onto a medium such as a plastic card, paper, or fabric. The sublimation name is applied because the dye transitions between the solid and gas states without going through a liquid stage. Many consumer and professional dye-sublimation printers are designed and used for producing photographic prints.

  • Rotary Engraving

Rotary engraving is the term used to describe engraving done with a rotating cutting tool in a motorized spindle. The tool, or cutter, cuts into the surface of the material to a predetermined depth and produces a groove of the same shape and dimension of the cutter. Rotary engraving can be performed on a wide variety of materials with plastic, brass, and aluminum being the most common in the awards industry.

  • Custom Certificate Design

A certificate is an official document affirming some fact. For example, a birth certificate or death certificate testifies to basic facts regarding a person’s birth or death. A certificate may also certify that a person has received specific education or has passed a test or series of tests depending on the certification.
